On: Tuesday, September 30, 2008

Last Month, Samsung wowed the fans at IFA with the launch of X360 notebook which was made to compete with Apple Macbook Air and as compared to Macbook Air, it had a lot of features. Samsung has announced the X460 notebook which looks very similar to the X360 as they both have the same design and aluminium finish. But it has got a 14.1 inch 1280 X 800 screen as compared to 13.3 inch screen of X360.

It is powered by Intel Centrino 2 processor and comes with 4 GB of RAM. It will also give you good graphics as Samsung have also added Geforce 9300M GS chipset with 256 MB dedicated memory. Storage wise, it will give you 120 GB - 320 GB of SATA hard drive. It has got a lot of connectivity options with Intel 802.11 a,b,g and WiFi adaptor. That means you can connect to latest high speed wireless networks from where ever you are. It also has a BlueTooth 2.0 + EDR module allowing you to connect your mobile or wireless speaker. Compared to X360, this one comes with a DVD writer which also supports the Light Scribe technology. Other features include a Fingerprint scanner, 1.3 MP webcam and antibacterial keyboard.

It is heavier than X360 and has a weight of around 1.9 Kg and comes with a 6 cell battery. It would have been better if it would have included a Blu Ray player as well. It will be available in October, no pricing details has been announced.
